October hosts a month-long celebration of all things art, thanks to The Big Draw Festival. This year’s theme is Play, and to join in with the fun, The National Football Museum are hosting three events during the October half term (22nd – 26th October).
Artist Gary Armer is taking up a week-long artist-in residency at the museum. Inspired by Dutch Golden Age still life paintings, Gary will create a still life painting but with a football twist in the event ‘Score Draw with Gary Armer’. Instead of depicting the traditional items such as flowers, musical instruments and fruit that are usually found in still life paintings (although there will actually be a touch of ‘tangerine’!), Gary will be painting objects in the National Football Museum’s collection.
